Dear Julie and Peter,

I am taking this moment to tell you about the teaching English community that I am apart of, that includes members of 5JP. I am really excited to tell you about the Teaching English Community.

What you must know already is that our unit theme is How We Organize Ourselves, where we have been learning about different communities and now we face the challenge to build up our own communities. Juliana, Andre, and I have decided to face the challenge of teaching English. As a group we have decided that if we achieve our goals then we will teach English to a local primary school. We have also come up with what we will teach them, most likely colours and the basics of the English language to the 1st and 2nd graders. The reason why our community chose this age group is because we feel that it will not be as big as a challenge as it would be to teach younger kids. Also why I think that the 1st and 2nd graders will be fantastic to teach is we think they will learn quicker and will be able to accomplish the small simple book we will ask them to draw and write. After they have finished the book we will ask them if they would like us to share their book with the school, If we succeed.

I really think that this community will go great because we have been working together as a team and have been co- operating really well in my opinion.

Dear Lui Ming Choi Memorial Primary School,
We three students, Andre, Juliana, and Monica age 10 to 11 in Grade five, are currently studying at Hong Kong Academy a international school, which is just up the road from you. In Hong Kong Academy we have recently been learning about communities and how to establish our own, for our community we are trying to reach the goal of Teaching English.
As part of a community called Easy English, we would like to propose an offer to your school as we would like to teach your grade 1’s and 2’s English. We actually already know that you have an English program running, but what we wish to do is to back up the students English with some vocal and board games as well as books.
At the same time though we will be teaching the students new words and good pronouciation.
We three feel that your school would be a great school to teach at as we could add benefit to the students oral language skills.
Sincerely yours,
Monica, Andre, Juliana

Dear Julie and Peter,

I am taking an opportunity to email you about my community and our plans.

My community will teach the English language to local students in Hong kong in a fun way,our group members, Monica Juliana, and me are fully committed to teach simple English vocabulary to local students. We are going to teach 1st and 2nd grade at Lui Ming Choi Memorial Primary School because we think they will be easy to teach, we will teach them the alphabet and simple languages using games and books. When we are done teaching them we will have them to write a short simple book and ask them if they want us to display it on a school assembly.

Regards,
Andre

Dear Julie and Peter,

I am e-mailing you to tell you about the community I’m in, the teaching English community called Easy English and some of our plans.

The community I’m in has three people: Monica, Andre and I. We are going to teach basic English words like colors, some animals, and letters from A to G (A to G because A to Z might be a little too hard ) using games and books to first and second graders. The reason our group chose first and second graders is because we think they will pay more attention to us than lower grades and probably will learn quicker. After we teach them basic English words,we will try to help them write a short simple book using the words they had learned. Then we will ask them if we can put the books on display at an assembly.

I think we are doing as a community and I think the community will succeed.

From,
Juliana
